The case with an arched door profusely decorated with gilt Chinoiserie figures engaged in various pursuits among foliage and fanciful pavilions in a watery landscape, the plinth with similar panel above a moulded skirting, the trunk further painted with gilt flowers, scrolls and shells enhanced with red, the hood with columns supporting a pediment pierced with a sound fret below three gilt finials; the brass dial with strike silent ring in the arch above gilt spandrels and a silvered chapter ring enclosing a signature plaque in the matted center; the two train brass movement with anchor escapement, rack striking the hours on a bell.
